Watching Gimbir grow and become an adult falcon, gave us a good example of how fast they change into their adult plumage. I've made a comparison.
Left image: Gimbir on 13 September 2025, shortly after he arrived approximately 11 months old
Right image: Gimbir on 27 Januari 2026. The vertical stripes in the front and legs have already transformed to the horizontal stripes of an adult, 4 months later

The greyish juvenile feathers on back and wings take a bit longer to completely change but by 17 - 18 months the transformation into an adult falcon is completed.
Left image: Gimbir on 7 September already showing some blue feathers on his upper back and neck
Right image: Gimbir on 20 April in his full adult plumage

Which was probably already complete in the begining of April when I posted this SS

I've seen those video's pop up but wasn't paying much attention since this cam is off season now and others started coming in season with the occasional incidents (of course)

You're welcome Kathryn. Actually you are right, it did have a good amount of votes, more than the European falcon cams even. I'm not sure what you mean with streaming it by yourself? You mean on your own website? Robert knows all about that technical stuff ????But when the owners of the cam don't mark the setting that allows others to stream it on their website, the only way to watch it is on YT. Since people couldn't watch it here on Nature Chat, is one of the main reasons that Robert deleted it I think. So we have to wait and see what happens when the live stream is back up on YT.

Thank you Sylvia for answering.

That is such a shame and disappointment because I watched it for the last 5 or so years. I wish I had the capability of streaming 24/7, by the way what would it entail?

I thought it had the number of votes needed to keep it open but I was obviously wrong. Here’s to hoping that something can be worked out ????

Hi Kathryn. When the poll was done last year to decrease the amount of cams on the webpage, it didn't score very high!. Although I continued throughout the season to post the progress of the growing chicks till they fledged, it was deleted shortly after ???? I fought for it and it was put back for a few months for viewers to look back at. Recently I also noticed it has been deleted again. The issue with the administrator of this website also was that the new building owners didn't allow the stream to be embedded on other sites. So it wasn't interesting for him to have it here. In the meantime new cams have been added here, so maybe more space was needed, idk. We will see what happens next breeding season. If the owners won't allow embedding again, it might not come back on NC.
