“In late August and early September, ospreys leave New Jersey for their wintering grounds.”
“Females typically depart first and males and young follow. Migration peaks in Cape May during the first week of October.”

According to a quick AI search:
“Ospreys generally leave New Jersey for their wintering grounds between late August and September.”
That seems about right for old Duke, from my experience.
