Like I wrote in an earlier post (but inadvertently deleted), good old Duke is just hanging around on the perch waiting for the next thing to happen.

In reply to David C. It really is surprising Duke hasn't fully settled with a mate. I hope other nesting pairs fared well with the heat wave we had this week. I'm hoping since temps along the coast were a lot lower that all of them were able to continue incubating comfortably.

In reply to ZBZB. It’s cooler in Barnegat Light and all of LBI. The nest is almost in the bay so it is very pleasant. I was there early this morning.

In reply to David C. @DC4632m:disqus have you been by the nest to visit this week during the heat wave? I've been wondering if the temps by there are cooler since it's near the water. I had some family stop by one of the beaches yesterday and they said temps were under 70 there, meanwhile it was over 95 by our houses!
