Lorraine, while the adults had been making nest visits this season, it's apparent that there won't be eggs since it's now months beyond when eggs have been laid here in past seasons.

The nest is actually man-made, and it was meant to encourage the golden eagles to take up residence in the bog where it's located. Productive breeding seasons at this nest have been inconsistent, with one in particular that ended in tragedy due to lack of prey and a permanent disappearance of the adult male.

I've believed since the season with tragedy that the bog isn't as suitable for nesting golden eagles as the ornithologists believed it would be when they built the nest as encouragement.
