5/01 Just like the past few days, Nova and Altyn can be heard calling from time to time, and you can see eagles flying. But neither Nova nor Altyn have been in this nest.
It's a pity that they chose a different nest this time and might be breeding there.

In reply to Margarita. Thank you, @disqus_2belwew6o2:disqus , for this information. I just saw it in the daily log too. So Altyn and Nova have two nests, which isn't unusual. Maybe there are eggs in the new "nest" and they're just hidden. It's a pity that the two didn't choose their big one....Thanks also to Rinur for his observations!

Good day, everyone!
Rinur was near the nest today. He saw a new nest where a bird was sitting.
Here's what he wrote in the chat: “I'm getting closer, already about 400 meters away. Altyn is circling, seeing me.
Now two birds are following me in the sky. I took a photo of both. One is definitely Altyn, the other bird flew off from the new nest and resembles Nova in plumage.
And it's not even a nest, it's God knows what. A pile of branches at the end of a side branch, something very small, but the bird fits in it.
I didn't see any eggs in the new nest; it's somehow hidden by branches. It's probably about 30-40 meters from the old nest, or closer.”

I'm worried. There's hardly any activity in the nest anymore. Last year, Nova laid her first egg on April 9; today is April 20! Yesterday, the voices of both eagles could be heard, and Altyn brought a twig. Today, one eagle flew by. That's it…
Eastern imperial eagles usually breed every year, but…"a shortage of primary prey, such as gophers or hares, can cause pairs to skip a breeding season" (AI). It certainly looks that way.😔
