There's no need to apologize. The words you use to describe how you feel about the lack of interest with some of the nest cams that aren't bald eagles or ospreys is how I feel most of the time also. We understand each other nearly perfectly. I'm still going to write you an email. I didn't forget. I have guests at my house today that wasn't scheduled, but I'm happy for the companionship and conversation while it's my day away from work. We're watching Germany play in the World Cup right now and relaxing.

Hi @roberttragesser:disqus , I just wanted to check in again and apologize. I’ve had some more time to think about it. I didn’t mean to complain yesterday; it’s just that sometimes it’s frustrating to be almost the only one visiting certain sites. I checked out your duck page today, and it was nice to see how much fun you were all having. I’ll admit, “my” pages are anything but funny—they’re more on the sad side.
No wonder, then, that people aren’t interested in them. How did I end up projecting my own interests onto others? Everyone is free to look at whatever they want.

You might be right about that. But there are so many nests where you can actually watch the whole process from the very beginning...and yet there’s no real interest.

I believe you were correct about the skepticism and also being supportive of change at the same time. I took heed to your skepticism for weeks actually because it was and still is valid to be skeptical.

I'm going to write you an email this evening or tomorrow and explain some history at NC, and it might result with you understanding what's important to me and others like you. It might also have a positive effect on your skepticism.

I think the problem is that most folks develop an interest in nests where they are able to follow the development from pip to hatch to the fledge; unfortunately that was not the case here this year and probably won't be in the future unless it is on a nest with the cam live

Hi Robert, I’m looking forward to your email (you don’t need to translate it) and to getting a better sense of the situation. I’d really like to know what’s on your mind, what your concerns are, what obstacles you’re facing, and what your plans are. Sometimes I just miss having a conversation with you. There are some things that are close to my heart. Take your time...

Both kids have fledged! And they’re returning to the nest, probably hoping for a meal.

And once again, thank you, @roberttragesser:disqus , for this stream/s. I still wonder why no one else is interested in it except you, @bujinin123:disqus and me.
And yes, I’m disappointed about that—and about all the other pages that have gone unnoticed.
And no, I'm not surprised—everyone's only interested in BE, Ospreys those work too, and of course, cute RTH.
Can you sense my disappointment, which I mentioned here earlier...
You once hinted that you had big plans for these pages and received a positive response. I welcomed the idea, but I was skeptical. Was I wrong? https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/ccfd37d037b57029d1da1b6a7d6e4542cb93612929893016eaf8a60ab60e5088.png

Silly me! I wrote a few days ago that the two have different tail feathers. They actually did, but those bands develop over time, and the number of them is the same for all once they fledge. (Just like with the RTH, where I learned this.)
Please correct me next time I'm wrong! I wouldn't mind. On the contrary, we're a Nature Chat, which also means “exchange”. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/cb92f322e33fa9a76f04870dd2efe4cb3f93298f94befe766e5ab443bf3aa158.png
